Iceman rules the snow

15th March 2007
Kimi finished his preparations for the 2007 season in spectacular style. He took a fantastic victory at the biggest Snowmobile race in Europe, Kopparberg 1NG Snow circus at Tahkovuori, Finland. More than 8000 die hard snowmobile fans gathered up to see World champions from motocross, enduro and trial to challenge the best snowmobile riders in the world. Kopparberg K1NG Snow circus was held for the 13th time and is the second biggest motor sport event in Finland. Kimi's final tune-up for Australian Grand Prix turned out to be very sporty and perfect when he demonstrated his, one could say, great passion for speed on snow and ice. While his rivals flew out to Australia to get acclimatized to the time zone and climate, Kimi acclimatized himself by taking a great victory among his more than 200 rivals at 24-km enduro race. Iceman finished the challenging 24-km course in 19.38 minutes beating his closest rival with more than 20 seconds. Enduro can be compared to rallying, where course is covered with thick snow and based on official snowmobile tracks in Finland. “I had some problems with the throttle in the final section, but sure I’m very pleased with the result among the World’s best snowmobile riders and look forward to challenging them in the Snow cross” said “race hot” Iceman between the two races. Kimi tightened the throttle before the snow cross with his Lappish mechanic, Snowmobile World Champ Janne Tapio.
