Confused in my opinion, alonso is one of the greatest

I have to agree. At the time, I hated his guts (he was the main rival of Kimi of course lol), but I've come to really appreciate him and what he did lol Smile

I think why Alonso was/is always so vocal about his frustrations or whatever is bothering him with the car, is because he wants to show people what he is feeling. He knows what he's talking about, trust me, Mercedes Benz! (I mean the member Ankit, not the team lol) So when he's complaining about the car, and when he and team fix it then everyone knows they fixed a problem and they're praised about it. Kimi on the other hand, because he's so quiet about it all people assume he was just lazy (yeah right lol) or wasn't motivated and etc. So you can see with both Alonso and Kimi - you can't win both ways! One guy is a passionate freak, the other an Iceman, both have their pros and cons. We fans here personally prefer the Iceman approach. It's just so cool...lol...

Sure, not every driver is perfect like Kimi (LOL!) but that's what makes them different! it's more fun that way. They're all respected, no doubt about it! even if sometimes they're annoying! Smile

Smile

Exactly. Is not that he complains like a kid because his mommy didn't buy him a new toy, that is pretty much how Mercedes-Benz (I mean the forumer Laughing) painted it out.

Anyone has his own style and his own way of working with the team. Seeing how Renault's team crew cheered when Alonso won races when he was in McLaren really proves that more than whining or crying he is just acting how he considers right. I mean, if he was such a whiner and baby crying he would not be that liked by his ex-team, Renault back then.

It would be true for me, to be honest... well, maybe LOL though I'll always respect him as a driver because no one can deny that he's very talented and very good. 2008 has thought me that he's really good and I like it that they respect each other with Kimi or should I say they even like each other! Smile I think 2007 and 2008 has thought Alonso a lot and he's much more mature now!

Not really, a bet is a bet, and fortunately I'm not smoking. I don't think either I'll loose my new bet this time, so you can keep it, hung in your wall of trophies.

Good stuff Adam, I stopped smoking 5 months ago! disgusting habit.

Stopping smoking is my biggest trophy.

Anyway, I hope you don't loose your other lung, life would be rather difficult in that scenario Shocked

Then again, I'm not really rooting for Fernando...do you think he'll do it this year Adam?

Personally, I have no idea who's going to be the favorites yet, testing hasnt been very revealing, though the usual suspects look to be in good form.

I hope the previous stragglers are given a performance boost with the regulation changes of 2009, we'll see soon enough eh?

Let me say, as much as I don't support the guy, if Fernando is in a competitive car from day go, he could easily win the championship, though I don't want that to happen, it is a reality. (A consolation of such a result would be that Adam wouldn't have to be on a respirator)
The drives he put in in the latter part of last year were phenomenal.
No niceties from me, only the truth.

This season is a huge big enigma.

Actually it would not be the first time that because a very big change of rules and cars, we see a very different front runners than as we got customary. It would not be foolish predicting that Williams, Toyota and Red Bull might fight for the championship.

So I actually don't have a clue about Alonso in particular. I think at least he'll have a car able to be in the top 5, I think enough for having a chance to win a championship. But I'm not really sure.

@angeliwink
, thanks as usual. Actually around this week I'll download your entire Alonso pics from your account Very Happy

Well, despite of Australia, I'm still positive, at least he got points. He had a terrible starting (thanks to Barrichello) and problems with tyres (soft and hard). But I think the car still will be competitive.

i think fernando is a great fighter on track...
i like him for leaving mighty mc laren and returning to, obviously slower renault, and fighting every race... i enjoy looking at him... (even if i didnt like seeing him winning against Schumi)
but, for me, he is one of the greates, for sure...

fernando has a natural skill which not much driver have these day. i like to see how he drove that R29 and still make the car look competitive. we hear lots of comparison these day about putting a professional driver into a *** No swearing*** car and make it works, i think alonso prove that now. this type of skill doesnt seem to have with many drivers. certainly he does make peoples out there impress of his driving skill.

New front wing for Renault, notice the wedge on the top most plane, the 2nd element of the front wing.

Older One used uptil the last GP.A better view of the new front wing on alonso's car, it was also fitted to piquet's.
